It has been theorized that a partial collapse of the island of La Palma did cause a megatsunami in ancient times, and that if a similar collapse happens again someday many coastal cities from Lisbon to New York and from Dakar and Lagos to Rio de Jainero will all suffer devastating floods. While I am not assuming this will happen imminently, the recent swarm of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions in the Canaries make this one of the most likely times for such an event. While the window of cataclysm is open for such an event, many people are reminded of prophecies that could be explained by such an event.
In Ireland, Saint Patrick is said to have warned of the destruction of Ireland by a great flood shortly before the end of the world. This end-time flood of Ireland prophecy is often associated with another prediction attributed to St. Colmcille (a.k.a. his Latin name St. Columba):
“I concede a favour to them without exception,
and St Patrick also did concede the same;
that seven years before the last day,
the sea shall submerge Eirin by one inundation”
There are similar flood warnings from Nostradamus regarding nearby England. The 16th century French prophet (who wrote more warnings about WWIII between Islam and Christianity than anything else) also referred to “the Isle of Scotland” (which implies England could be underwater) and to “tin St. George half sunk to the bottom.” Britain has been known as a great source of tin since before Roman times, and St. George is the patron saint of England.
In 1981, Pope John Paul II commented on the papacy refusing to divulge the Third Secret of Fatima: “Given the seriousness of the contents, my predecessors in the Petrine office diplomatically preferred to postpone publication so as not to encourage the world power of Communism to make certain moves. On the other hand, it should be sufficient for all Christians to know this: if there is a message in which it is written that the oceans will flood whole areas of the earth, and that from one moment to the next millions of people will perish, truly the publication of such a message is no longer something to be so much desired.” In my opinion, he knew the Third Secret describes a catastrophic pole shift. The Magnetic North Pole is already moving towards Siberia; and I expect the next rotational North Pole position could end up in Siberia near Lake Baikal. If it does, and if Russian and Chinese leaders know their lands will become the new Arctic – I would expect them to make preparations to seize other regions for their populations’ future homelands – which would explain John Paul II’s comments on encouraging communist powers to make certain moves.
