Especially in Europe, my books are mocked mercilessly for the last week.

It might be a response to my portrayal of certain European “leaders” as traitors…

It could be because End Times and 2019 generates more attention at the start of… 2019.

Or just because my speculations are sometimes wrong

You could look at my very first book title: Nostradamus, World War III, 2002 – and dismiss it by saying WWIII didn’t happen in 2002.  But my argument in that book (written in the late 1990s) was that Nostradamus said there would be a 27 year period of increasing conflict between Islam and the West, starting no later than early 2002… And you could say there has been never-ending war across the continents since 9/11/2001…

But bearing in mind that I’m not particularly famous or important and that writing books on the possible end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it isn’t my day job… it also makes me wonder why I am suddenly being written up (and discredited) in hundreds of publications around the world in the last week.

* Even this blog post was only up for a few minutes, and had perhaps 3 views at best – before another tabloid mockery type article appeared about the post you are reading right now! – https://ascienceenthusiast.com/totally-serious-prophecy-says-the-apocalypse-will-occur-in-2019-for-real-this-time-guys/  As if my ideas aren’t questionable enough on their own… this one even added “Sharknadoes” to my list of claims!

I commented: “Thank you Dan! Within minutes of my writing a blog post about how my books are being misrepresented and made fun of without anyone paying attention to most of what I actually say, you helped prove my point with almost instantaneous mockery, and even sharknadoes! As one reader commented on the same blog post: “Readers of your books will have the discretion to see the difference between authentic sifting through of ideas versus inane prophecy declarations.” I don’t mind if millions of people laugh it all off, knowing a select few will be motivated to continue their search for evidence, and a better understanding of geology, mythology, religion and other relevant topics.”

If I were the tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy theorist type – I would start wondering if I’m really onto something important with my newest POLE SHIFT book, and if there’s a smear campaign to discredit me.  Probably not…  But the huge surge in (negative) publicity for my writing does get my attention.

The mockery started with British tabloids and spread globally…  It stings a little to do years of research and write books from as scientific a perspective as possible and still be called:

“Prolific doomsday prophet David Montaigne”

David Montaigne, a popular Christian conspiracy theorist”

crackpot author David Montaigne”

I love how one article in Britain’s The Sun wraps up their commentary on me:

“Author Ronald Weinland claims the apocalypse will come on June 9, 2019, based on his readings of Mayan texts.  Weinland previously made failed predictions of Armageddon in 2011, 2012, and 2013.

What do you think of Montaigne’s bizarre theories? Let us know in the comments!”

Nice touch, throwing in someone else’s failed predictions as if relevant to mine.  (They also say “He claims Earth’s poles will flip on December 21, causing its magnetic south to re-locate to the North Pole, and the magnetic north to shift to Antarctica.”

I actually give evidence for pole shifts of approximately 30 degrees, like the last one that

ia_fig7_0_2

moved the North Pole from the west of Hudson Bay – the middle of North America’s Ice Cap – to its current position.  It doesn’t make much sense for an “ice age” in North America while Siberia was warm and full of herds of big animals – unless the North Pole wasn’t where it is today…  But I guess they didn’t bother to read my POLE SHIFT book either.

Maybe someone could lump me in with even more irrelevant and preposterous comments from someone else to further discredit me.  Oh look, another recent article already thought of that: “Montaigne isn’t the first person whose come out with some ‘interesting’ ideas for 2019.  Going by the name Noah, one ‘time traveler’ claims that he’s been along to the year 2030 and has come back with some big news for the coming years.”  Nice touch, lump me in with someone who claims to time travel…

This article by METRO is more interested in my take on Nostradamus’ prophecies of WWIII. – but they still found time to misrepresent my pole shift thoughts and claim that I suggest “Earth’s poles could be about to flip, due to a series of signs in the sky last month.”  That makes no sense at all… though there are many other scientific reasons to think that a pole shift is coming, and many articles from scientific sources say the same thing…

I commented on one article:

“Thanks for the irreverent dismissal of some of my comments, Dominic! I can’t see the future – and I’ll be happy to be wrong on this, because I hope nothing happens this year – but I find it fascinating that we can use forensic astronomy to analyze the descriptions of the skies given in ancient prophetic visions and – just possibly – calculate when future skies will match the ancient details. Even Sir Isaac Newton had 4500 pages of notes attempting to do this – and he focused on the 21st century (though his alleged focus on the year 2060 was misrepresented in the press.) But sure, lump me in with a guy who claims he’s a time traveler from the future instead.”

This video seems pretty accurate compared to the mistreatment I received in the articles.

But I prefer to let my books speak for themselves – in case you’re interested in more than me getting roasted in the press.
