Nelson Walters has been writing great Bible commentary for many years. A few days ago he posted again on the topic: Who Is The Restrainer
“The Antichrist is currently being restrained by a supernatural force. Who is the Restrainer? The Holy Spirit or someone else? In 2 Thess. 2, Paul informs us that during the time he was in Thessaloniki, he told the Christians there who it was that is restraining the Antichrist. And for that reason he didn’t clearly record who it was…”
It was considered so well known and understood that the exact details like a name were considered unnecessary. Perhaps today we are generally less educated on such biblical topics – and there has been much debate on the Restrainer’s identity.
I wrote about topics like this in my books on end times Bible prophecies (less in End Times and 2019, more in Antichrist: 2016-2019) so I had all my thoughts ready as a commentary to one of Nelson’s posts about four years ago, which he chose to use as a guest post on his blog:

I recently commented:
“Despite my interpretations of prophetic clues on timing – world events seem largely unchanged compared to four years ago when you kindly passed on my thoughts as a guest post. While I hope the timing expressed in my books proves to be meaningless, I find it hard to ignore the idea that the fig tree generation is the one that saw Israel reborn as a nation in 1948 and will also see the fulfillment of all end times prophecies – meaning that it must be very soon, if I understand Matthew 24, Mark 13, and especially Luke 21:32 and Psalms 90:10. I remain curious and hope that you might choose to post your opinions on such timing of prophetic events soon.”
I hope Nelson chooses to comment on the timing of such events.
