“Elon Musk is either privy to some really disturbing technology that the rest of us can’t even begin to fathom or he is desperately crying out for help by advertising his recurring nervous meltdowns over social media.
In his latest frightening/entertaining (depending on one’s viewpoint) tweet storm, Elon predicts that artificial intelligence will be the “most likely cause of WW3” and that robots may actually initiate the outbreak of a global war if they decide that a “preemptive strike is most probable path to victory.
Recent remarks by Russian President Vladimir Putin grabbed Musk’s attention. Speaking to schoolchildren about AI on Sept. 1, Putin declared, “Whoever becomes the leader in this area will rule the world.” Musk’s response emerged on Twitter: “It begins…”
Actually, Russia isn’t “beginning” anything when it comes to AI.” It’s just competing for dominance like every other major power.
“China, Russia, soon all countries w strong computer science. Competition for AI superiority at national level most likely cause of WW3 imo. May be initiated not by the country leaders, but one of the AI’s, if it decides that a prepemptive strike is most probable path to victory.”
I still say we humans will start WWIII on our own before AI feels the need, and my prophecy research concludes the primary battleground, once again, will be Europe:
