“We strongly believe that what GoDaddy, Google, and Cloudflare did here was dangerous: Protecting free speech is something we do… because the power to decide who gets to speak and who doesn’t is too dangerous to hand to any company or any government.

Google, Facebook, Twitter and many other sites have been blocking right wing content for years, and only promoting liberal/progressive messages.

Not only is this a form of oppression, not only does it invite the other side to do the same thing if and when they have power to do so, but it also invites more government regulation to determine how much censorship power such companies should have.

When a Christian bakery wants to opt out of making a wedding cake about gay marriage, they are told they must tolerate and work with people and views they disagree with, and they are shamed out of business.  When the left wants to opt out of serving extremists on the right, there is no similar response.  Should both be allowed to act in what they consider the right way of handling their business – or should neither?  Or are the leftists just right every time?

I’m not supporting white supremacists, I think my previous posts (as recently as the one with Superman fighting the KKK) make that abundantly clear.  But arbitrary or clearly biased internet censorship is going to be a problem.
