Most African American voters are registered Democrats, despite the Democratic Party accomplishing very little for them except to maintain their dependence on government help. Perhaps if they thought more about the freedoms supported by Republicans and the dependency continued by Democrats, they might understand what Alveda C. King, the niece of MLK, once said:
“My uncle, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., during his lifetime was a Republican,” Alveda King told listeners in a video posted on the National Black Republican Association’s website.
I’m not saying Dr. King was actually registered as a Republican – the evidence doesn’t exist to support that – but Bill Whittle and Alveda King are not the only ones to realize that he appreciated the FREEDOMS that Republicans have argued for from the 1850s to the 21st century.
