Obama ordered The United States representative to abstain from a recent United Nations vote on the status of much of the land of Israel.  In a U.N. dominated by dozens of Muslim nations, a resolution was passed that declares the land Israel won in the Six Day War in 1967 to be occupied territory.  History doesn’t matter.  The Jewish quarter of Jerusalem, the Western Wall of the ancient Jewish Temple, Hebron, Nazareth, Bethlehem are all in the same category now – in the view of the U.N. anyway – illegally occupied territory.  Maybe soon they will stretch it even more, to Hamas’s view “From the River to the Sea” and include Tel Aviv and Haifa too.  Then the U.N. can declare Israel’s existence illegal.

Of course, no one complained about Turkish rule or British rule or Jordanian rule there.  The fact that Jordan renounced its claims to the West Bank/Judea and Samaria, that it was historically ancient Israel, or that no Palestinian nation ever ruled it (or even existed as an idea, until the Egyptian soldier Yasser Arafat had popularized the idea that an independent nation of Palestine should exist – none of that matters when enough people loudly raise their voices saying they wish it to be so.

Obama seems to wish for it.  Will the West do anything about it?  Will the Muslim nations do anything?  Or will there be a never-ending regional cold war?  There is a clash of civilizations right now, just as Huntington claimed there would be – and as Nostradamus and the Bible claimed there would be.  When will that regional cold war go hot, and will it be WWIII when it does?

The Bible has a lot to say about the land of Israel in the end times, standing alone against its enemies.  Multiple Bible prophecies lead us to the year 1967, when Jerusalem was liberated by the Israeli Army.  As more and more criteria for the fulfillment of such prophecies come to pass, we should consider if such things may actually happen as described in the next few years
