Netanyahu comments on the Palestinian demand that any future independent state of theirs must be free of Jews, and explains that peace on a foundation of ethnic cleansing is unlikely. I wish the old ethnic hatreds of the region could evaporate; I wish Palestinian children’s shows didn’t have a big rabbit saying things like “I will eat the Jews!” – I wish people would rely less on ancient claims and more on the right of people alive today to exist… I wish the West would have less of a double standard, applauding Palestinian demands for ethnic cleansing while saying Israel has no rights to certain places – even the Temple Mount in Jerusalem… I wish true peace seemed possible; but the people of the Middle East would have to want to live in peace more than they want to kill their neighbors. And the rumor mill says Obama and the UN will force a partition of Israel and create another (Jordan was 70% of Palestine already) Arab Palestinian state by the end of 2016 – that will start a bigger war for certain.
