Ezra was a Jewish priest and prophet and a leader of the Jewish people when they returned to Israel after their 70 year captivity in Babylon ended in 538 B.C. I first learned about him many years ago while researching End Times and 2019. The Book of Esdras (his Greek name) appears in Catholic Bibles but is non-canonical in Protestant Bibles… I still came across him again while working on my most recent book:
POLE SHIFT: Evidence Will Not Be Silenced
…because Ezra repeatedly described pole shifts and even had prophetic clues about when the next one is due. For one example, he said we can expect the end of the present age via another pole shift, as he described the last one in 2 Esdras 3:9-18 “But again, in its time you brought the flood upon the inhabitants of the world and destroyed them…. You bent down the heavens and shook the earth, and moved the world, and caused its depths to tremble…. Your glory passed through the four gates of fire and earthquake and wind and ice.”
In studying the Book of Esdras I stumbled onto a great post written many years ago on a prophecy from Ezra:
“For some strange reason I recently got to reading the vision of the three headed eagle in the “hidden book” of 2 Esdras and given the recent huge rise in earthquakes and the uprising of people world wide noticed the following:
Therefore when there shall be seen earthquakes and uproars of the people in the world: Then shalt thou well understand (4 Esdras 9:3-4)
Then shalt thou well understand what? Perhaps Esdras’ dream of the three headed eagle in chapter 11 that goes like this. A nation was to arise represented by an eagle with three heads and 12 normal wings (or feathers in some translations), plus 8 contrary wings would rule over the earth. The three heads and wings (or feathers) each represent different rulers of this powerful nation. Each of the wings take turns in an orderly manner one after another to rule, while the heads are sleeping.
The prophecy picks up the story after the nation has been in danger of collapse near the middle of its existence. The rule of the second wing after that time was to be twice as long and greater than any other. After this no other would be allowed to rule as long – only half as long. When the 12 had taken their turns to rule, smaller contrary wings began to rule. After the first one ruled, then the second but not for as long as the first contrary wing. After that the next two were planning to rule jointly when the first big head awoke and ripped these two wings off with its beak. This head ruled over the entire world. When he had passed away the other two heads awoke and took turns in ruling. By this stage the eagle is rebuked by a lion and his kingdom is devastated. Finally the last two contrary feathered wings then rule over what is left until the eagle is completely burned up. There are two more contrary wings mentioned, that rule somewhere in the middle of all of this (before the 3 heads) but is not quite clear where in the sequence.
What does it mean? Esdras tells us that this three headed eagle is the fourth kingdom of Daniel which most scholars believe refers to Rome and many have tried to match the wings and heads with the various roman emperors but it does not quite fit. The eagle is the emblem of the USA as it was that of the Roman Empire. So if we realise that the American Empire is the prophetic counterpart to the Roman Empire [see this page on Daniel’s vision] we start to see how it all fits. There are many parallels between the three heads of this eagle and the three rulers of Daniel’s fourth kingdom described in Dan 11:16-30 (Click here to see its ancient and modern-day fulfillment).
The wings take turns in an orderly manner to rule, which the emperors by the most part never did, but the presidents do, serving one or two four year terms. There has only ever been one president that has ruled longer than all the others being F.D.Roosevelt who served 4 terms from 1933-1945 (passed away at the start of his fourth term). The USA had begun to emerged as a world economic power after WW1 and by 1929 dominated the world economy. Hence Roosevelt was the 2nd wing of this world dominating empire, its dominance would first be economic and then military. After this leader the law would be changed limiting presidents to 2 terms. Counting the remaining 10 wings/presidents we find that Clinton was the last one before the first two contrary wings. We expect there to be significant changes in the style and manner of government in the presidencies of the contrary wings and this is confirmed by history. Then there were to be 2 more presidents after Clinton, being Bush and Soetero [Obama]. Then the first head awakes. Originally I assumed that this implied that “the current president is to be succeeded by someone that is unelected. That means that either the 2016 election is cancelled or postponed or the President elect is taken out or there is a coup”. However Esdras does not actually dictate that the first head be unelected. It just could be a non politician out of left field that happens to be elected…. Under this leader the US empire will dominate the world like never before… The nation will then be devastated by natural disasters.”
This post above was written in 2009. Could the “non-politician” elected to the presidency be Trump? It sure sounds like it to me. Could the natural disasters be a pole shift in the near future? Ezra gives many clues that it is.
FWIW, here is the actual prophecy described by Ezra:
The vision is given in Chapter 11 as follows:
1: Then saw I a dream, and, behold, there came up from the sea an eagle, which had twelve feathered wings, and three heads.
2: And I saw, and, behold, she spread her wings over all the earth, and all the winds of the air blew on her, and were gathered together.
3: And I beheld, and out of her feathers there grew other contrary feathers; and they became little feathers and small.
4: But her heads were at rest: the head in the midst was greater than the other, yet rested it with the residue.
5: Moreover I beheld, and, lo, the eagle flew with her feathers, and reigned upon earth, and over them that dwelt therein.
6: And I saw that all things under heaven were subject unto her, and no man spoke against her, no, not one creature upon earth.
7: And I beheld, and, lo, the eagle rose upon her talons, and spoke to her feathers, saying,
8: Watch not all at once: sleep every one in his own place, and watch by course:
9: But let the heads be preserved for the last.
10: And I beheld, and, lo, the voice went not out of her heads, but from the midst of her body.
11: And I numbered her contrary feathers, and, behold, there were eight of them.
12: And I looked, and, behold, on the right side there arose one feather, and reigned over all the earth;
13: And so it was, that when it reigned, the end of it came, and the place thereof appeared no more: so the next following stood up. and reigned, and had a great time;
14: And it happened, that when it reigned, the end of it came also, like as the first, so that it appeared no more.
15: Then came there a voice unto it, and said,
16: Hear you that have borne rule over the earth so long: this I say unto you, before you begin to appear no more,
17: There shall none after you attain unto your time, neither unto the half thereof.
18: Then arose the third, and reigned as the other before, and appeared no more also.
19: So went it with all the residue one after another, as that every one reigned, and then appeared no more.
20: Then I beheld, and, lo, in process of time the feathers that followed stood up upon the right side, that they might rule also; and some of them ruled, but within a while they appeared no more:
21: For some of them were set up, but ruled not.
22: After this I looked, and, behold, the twelve feathers appeared no more, nor the two little feathers:
23: And there was no more upon the eagle’s body, but three heads that rested, and six little wings.
24: Then saw I also that two little feathers divided themselves from the six, and remained under the head that was upon the right side: for the four continued in their place.
25: And I beheld, and, lo, these little wings thought to set up themselves and to have the rule.
26: And I beheld, and, lo, there was one set up, but shortly it appeared no more.
27: And the second was sooner away than the first.
28: And I beheld, and, lo, the two that remained thought also in themselves to reign:
29: And when they so thought, behold, there awaked one of the heads that were at rest, namely, it that was in the midst; for that was greater than the two other heads.
30: And then I saw that the two other heads were joined with it.
31: and behold, the head turned with those that were with it, and it devoured the two little wings which were planning to reign.
32: But this head put the whole earth in fear, and bare rule in it over all those that dwelt upon the earth with much oppression; and it had the governance of the world more than all the wings that had been.
33: And after this I beheld, and, lo, the head that was in the midst suddenly appeared no more, like as the wings.
34: But there remained the two heads, which also in like sort ruled upon the earth, and over those that dwelt therein.
35: And I beheld, and, lo, the head upon the right side devoured it that was upon the left side.
36: Then I head a voice, which said unto me, Look before you, and consider the thing that you see.
37: And I beheld, and lo, as it were a roaring lion chased out of the wood: and I saw that he sent out a man’s voice unto the eagle, and said,
38: Hear you, I will talk with you, and Elyon shall say unto you,
39: Are not you it that remains of the four beasts, whom I made to reign in my world, that the end of their times might come through them?
40: You, the fourth that has come, have conquered all the beasts that have gone before; and you have held sway over the world with much terror, and over all the earth with grievous oppression; and for so long you have dwelt on the earth with deceit.
41: For the earth have you not judged with truth.
42: For you have afflicted the meek, you have hurt the peaceable, you have loved liars, and destroyed the dwellings of them that brought forth fruit, and have cast down the walls of such as did you no harm.
43: Therefore is thy wrongful dealing come up unto Elyon, and your pride unto the Mighty.
44: Elyon also has looked upon the proud times, and, behold, they are ended, and his abominations are fulfilled.
45: And therefore appear no more, you eagle, nor your horrible wings, nor your wicked feathers nor your malicious heads, nor your hurtful claws, nor all your vain body:
46: That all the earth may be refreshed, and may return, being delivered from thy violence, and that she may hope for the judgment and mercy of him that made her.
Chapter 12
1: And it came to pass, whiles the lion spoke these words unto the eagle, I saw,
2: And, behold, the head that remained and the four wings appeared no more, and the two went unto it and set themselves up to reign, and their kingdom was small, and fill of uproar.
3: And I saw, and, behold, they appeared no more, and the whole body of the eagle was burnt so that the earth was in great fear: then awaked I out of the trouble and trance of my mind, and from great fear, and said unto my spirit,
4: Lo, this have you done unto me, in that you search out the ways of Elyon.
5: Lo, yet am I weary in my mind, and very weak in my spirit; and little strength is there in me, for the great fear wherewith I was afflicted this night.
6: Therefore will I now beseech Elyon, that he will comfort me unto the end.
7: And I said, YHWH that bears rule, if I have found grace before your sight, and if I am justified with you before many others, and if my prayer indeed be come up before your face;
8: Comfort me then, and show me your servant the interpretation and plain difference of this fearful vision, that you may perfectly comfort my soul.
9: For you have judged me worthy to show me the last times….
In a follow up post years later the same blogger wrote:
“Review: Lets review the facts.
- The first head acts when someone is already planning their presidency. This implies that they are virtually assured of taking the position.
- We are not told how the first head comes to power, just that it “suddenly awakes” and devours the planned president which implies a large element of surprise – the whole matter is quite unexpected if not a bit out of the ordinary.
- The head is quite unlike previous presidents, clearly he is not a politican.
- The first head will renew many things (2 Esd:12:23) and rule with a stronger hand than any before him.
There has perhaps been no candidate more surer of claiming the presidency than Hillary. She not only had the support of all the media, many foreign governments, but had the DNC rigged to make sure of it and all the polls put her way in the lead. She even had preplanned post-election celebrations, which had to cancelled at the last minute. Her defeat was so unexpected that it has led to total disbelief and much angst among her supporters.
In spite of Trump’s statement that he is not seeking to do her any harm, Hillary remains at a high risk of being devoured by her email and clinton foundation scandals. The FBI is continuing their investigation. Whether she is prosecuted or not it makes little difference in the bigger scheme of things, the fact that the investigation continues and the risk of prosecution is sufficient to keep her down and out.
While Trump had been toying with the idea of running for president over the years, few people took him seriously, many assuming that his motions in that direction was just to gain publicity for his businesses. The 2016 election was as much a sudden, if not a rude awakening for the entire political establishment, as if he had shown no previous interest. His winning the presidency was a bolt out of the blue and with his election have awoken many conservative political forces that have been dormant for many years.
Trump’s platform is precisely that of “renewing many things” – and in so doing “making america great again“, if only for a period of time. So the current president elect can in fact be seen to fit the symbolic description in the prophecy. If he is the first head of this eagle, then all the other events listed in my original post will take place within the next few years. Economic crash, civil war/unrest and the union of church and state. His rise marks the beginning of the end. It represents the last gasp for air of the america of old before it sinks into oblivion. The president elect no doubt has good intentions, and will restore many things but the good ship of liberty has gone too far to ever come back. She might turn about, but the unseen tide of clandestine forces will nevertheless continue to sweep her further into the awaiting storm that is the final apocalypse.”
