Jeremiah Johnson recently wrote about mental and spiritual preparation for the end times at https://endtimesprophecyreport.com/2018/06/16/effective-end-times-preparation-has-nothing-to-do-with-making-lists-or-storing-things-of-the-world/

And he’s right!  While I do believe the Bible gives us enough information to calculate the timing of the tribulation and the manner in which God will give Earth a do-over, the most realistic preparation most people can handle is not to relocate to a presumed safe zone or stock up on food or guns… The best preparation is mental and spiritual.

If you have false (or no) expectations that such events can happen soon then when they do you will be mentally shocked and at risk of losing faith when your expectations of what should have happened first didn’t happen as you expected.  “The great apostasy” – the huge falling away during the tribulation when hundreds of millions of people lose faith – will largely result from not being prepared in their minds.

So keep in mind – the generation that saw Israel recreated as a nation is supposed to see ALL end times prophecies fulfilled.  Israel was declared a nation in May 1948 – 71 years ago.  A generation is defined as 70 years, 80 if you’re strong.  If the fig tree parable (Israel is likened to a fig tree) means anything, such events could happen very soon.

And He told them a parable: “Look at the fig tree, and all the trees; as soon as they come out in leaf, you see for yourselves and know that the summer is already near. So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that the kingdom of God is near. Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away till all has taken place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.” — Luke 21:29-33

Without further distraction, here is Jeremiah Johnson’s recent post:

Effective End Times Preparation Has NOTHING To Do with Making Lists or Storing Things of the World

end time preparation: faith

The most effective way to prepare for the end times is having the faith to 1- rely on God Almighty; and, 2- still the chattering monkey in one’s mind that springs from the incessant bleating of the media prepper shills.

IF one stumbles into the snare of relying on one’s own preparedness and the things of this world: this not only demonstrates the foolishness of relying on one’s self; it also demonstrates a lack of one’s faith in God Almighty.

Make no mistake: one DOES need to prepare for the end times.  BUT, one cannot prepare physically for such events: one can only prepare spiritually through a love of the truth and faith in Jesus Christ.

There ARE effective methods of preparing for the end times.

NONE of those methods have anything to do with storing up physical items in an attempt to overcome what is coming to pass in the last days.

The one who believes he can physically prepare for the end times is, in effect, saying he can outsmart God Almighty.

The end times events outlined in the Bible happen for very specific reasons.

One of those reasons is that God is separating the world into the few who walk the walk AND the many who talk the talk.

“Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.”
–1Corinthians 3:13

The wise reader should remember: effective end times preparation Has NOTHING to do with making lists or storing the things of the world.
